Your entire life does not have to be totally defined by what happened to you before you were old enough to decide on your own.

For instance, I grew up shy. If you saw me today, however, it would take you awhile to guess that. But during my childhood I was amazed about how my mother's mother could strike up a conversation with complete strangers and have nice, friendly chats with them (without ANY sexual flavor involved). I wanted to have that ability. So someplace along the line I set out practicing that. Eventually it got easy, even natural for me.

So what change in how you handle things would you wish to practice? Doing so is the beginning to change.
